NRE is dedicated to the acquisition of surplus corporate properties, with an emphasis on the New York Metro area. NRE raised a $100 million fund in 1996 making it the first institutionally funded redeveloper of environmentally contaminated properties.
NRE has a solid reputation for speed on certainty in closing deals with corporate sellers. Current acquisition targets are existing buildings and surplus land with a redevelopment value in excess of $50 million.
NRE focuses on industrial right sizing. NRE has a strong track record in adaptive re-use of former industrial properties returning them to productive use as back offices, research and development facilities, and high tech premises. The adaptive re-use field is fast growing and NRE’s track record and multidisciplinary skills are its unique qualifications. These “infill” opportunities are often inherently high value sites in central locations. The local economic development agencies of states and towns are usualy proactive since NRE revitalizes the property, returning it to the tax rolls and providing new local employment opportunities.
